About me
I graduated from the Chemical Technology department of the Helsinki University of Technology (Now part of Aalto University). My main topics were and have been ever since: unit operations in chemical technology and chemical plant design.
During my decades long research at the Technical Research Centre of Finland - VTT I have mostly explored new ways to process bio-based feedstocks. I have been fortunate to manage dozens of research & development projects and to participate in dozens more. Typically, the projects have relied heavily on experimental research.
My positions at VTT included project manager, group leader and research team leader. I retired from VTT in October 2013 as a Leading Research Scientist.
About the consultancy
Since retirement I have continued research work as a private consultant.
Happily distancing myself from the hectic day-to-day tasks, I've mostly withdrawn to following what others do in the areas I'm familiar with: bio-based materials, biofuels and processing with supercritical fluids.
